Liberatory Parts Work: Expanding the Map

Parts-based approaches - IFS, ego state therapy, structural dissociation, Components Based Psychotherapy - and others,  have transformed how clinicians understand and engage with our inner worlds. We explore these inner landscapes with maps that are often rich and supportive, but also often without the voices of multiply-marginalized communities, disabled people, survivors of systemic trauma, or those who live with DID and complex dissociation.

This two-part series brings a liberatory lens to parts work - one that takes seriously the role of oppression, collective trauma, and structural harm in shaping our internal systems and that centers the dignity, wisdom, and self-determination of every part and every person. We'll draw on disability justice, neurodivergence-affirming practice, and creative and attuned work with folks who are plural/multiple or identify as systems to expand what's clinically possible and ethically grounded.

Across four hours, participants will deepen their conceptual framework, build practical skills, and engage critically with the assumptions embedded in dominant models, all in service of more accountable, adaptive, and effective care.
